Vietnam will welcome Mr. Paco Borao – AIMS President this November

In February 2024, Mr. Paco Borao, President of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), visited and met with the Vietnam Athletics Federation in Hanoi.
During this visit, Mr. Paco Borao signed a memorandum of cooperation to host the 24th AIMS World Congress in Vietnam in November 2024.
AIMS officially confirmed Hanoi, Vietnam as the host for the 24th AIMS World Congress, with the Ha Long Bay Heritage Marathon (Halong Bay Heritage Marathon) as the official closing race of the Congress.
As part of this, the AIMS President will be present at Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024, taking place on the morning of November 17, 2024, to award prizes to the winning athletes.
Additionally, he will personally sign certificates for athletes achieving sub-3 and sub-3:30 times in the Full Marathon. This is the only certificate issued by AIMS at a race in Vietnam in 2024.
The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon boasts a certified course that meets the standards of both the World Athletics (WA) and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). The race is part of the official competition system of the General Department of Sports and Physical Education and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. Since 2022, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon has officially joined the Age Group Ranking System of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.
