Letter To Running Clubs

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2022, Vietnam’s oldest heritage race, is nearing an end, while the image and imprint created by running clubs are getting increasingly more impressive.

The Organizers would like to thank the clubs which have participated in this year’s race, with the special thanks going to the companions: Cam Pha Runner-CPR, Turtle Runners, Bac Ninh Run Group-BNR, Thong Nhat Park Running Association-TPR, Thanh Ha Runner-THR, Quang Yen Runner Club-QYR, Thanh Tri Runner-TTR and Green Star Runner-GSR.

For the first time at a marathon, clubs have directly joined the work of the organizing committee, from providing water, giving directions and assisting security on the running track to providing medical support and cheering.

We have seen how clubs ignited the fire as runners ran past, in the sound of drums, music and cheering. We have also seen the kindness of the clubs when refueling, giving directions to runners, and especially, in helping the last runners to reach the Finish line…

Above all else, club members are those who know runners well, so they have brought the warmness much more than runners could expect.

The Organizers would like to thank the Core team of volunteers, who are also members of running clubs. The teams had reasonable plans for Bib distribution, logistics, refreshment point arrangement, running track security, medical care... to make the marathon a success.

All runners have crossed the Finish line safely, the running clubs and the Core team along with all of us have also reached the Finish nicely.

Let's see each other again for another brilliant race in 2023.

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon running tracks is certified by the World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. The race is part of the official competition system of the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors, starting from 2022.

The Heritage Race system, organized annually by DHA Vietnam, comprises the VPBank Hanoi Marathon in October, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon in November and the Can Tho Marathon - A Heritage Race in December.
