NOTES TO HALONG BAY HERITAGE MARATHON 2023 RUNNERS

Runners competing in the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2023 are required to take note of the following rules.

• Runners are not allowed to use any wheeled vehicles while running (e.g., skateboards, carts, wheeled shoes, bicycles, motorcycles, etc.).
• Runners should refrain from using prohibited substances listed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The substances include stimulants, drugs, or any substances that enhance excitement during the race.
• Runners are not permitted to receive any assistance other than what is provided by the Organizers (such as water, nutrition, accompanying runners...).
• Runners cannot bring pets along during the race.
• Runners must refrain from actions or speech that may cause disturbance, incite the crowd, provoke violence, or cause damages to the race.
• Runners are prohibited from bringing inappropriate items such as weapons, sticks, sharp and pointed objects that may cause harm to others.
• Runners should not bring documents or materials with content opposing the state's laws and traditions, contradicting the policies of the State or contrary to Vietnam's cultural values.
• Runners should not wear outfits with offensive or inappropriate imagery against Vietnamese cultural norms, images that oppose Vietnamese government’s policies, or running with the face fully covered or bare chests.
• Runners must adhere to the current traffic laws in the running area. Violating runners will be held fully responsible under Vietnamese law and must compensate for any damages caused to the Organizers (if any).
• Foreign runners are responsible for declaring and ensuring the clear purpose for entering Vietnam was to participate in the marathon when applying for visas and entering Vietnam.
• Runners are also responsible for informing the Organizers of their temporary hotel address in Halong during their participation in the race.
• Runners should not perform activities that cause delays or disruptions during the race such as jumping, changing clothes, playing musical instruments, fundraising, seeking autographs... Runners must not obstruct the race by failing to follow the instructions provided by the race’s Organizers. Runners should not go to toilets at illegitimate locations.

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon running track is certified by the World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. The race is part of the official competition system of the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors since 2022.

The Heritage Race system, organized annually by DHA Vietnam, comprises the Hanoi Marathon - Heritage Race in October, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon in November and the Can Tho Marathon - A Heritage Race in December.
