HALONG BAY HERITAGE MARATHON 2023 MEDAL FEATURES KISSING ROCKS

 

The Finisher's medal of the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2023, Vietnam's oldest heritage race, will highlight the World Natural Wonder's distinctive features.
One side of the medal features the Kissing Rocks, the Bay’s most famous symbol. Two chicken-shaped rock formations gracefully rest upon the sea, their bases weathered by millions of years. The rocks leave a lasting impression as they appear to be on the verge of toppling over at any moment, yet it has been standing strong for thousands of years, adding charm to Halong Bay.
The other side of the medal is painted in a jade green color, reminiscent of the moss-covered and vivid green mangroves in the Bay all year round. Against this mossy green background, a portion of the marathon track is depicted, a straight and spacious path that includes a 235-meter tunnel through the mountains.
This unique medal will be awarded to runners who successfully complete the race at four distances, and also to the Crew members. This year, nearly 10,000 runners are expected to compete in the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon, a surge from the registered number of runners for the November 2022 race.
The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2023’s Organizers wish all runners good physical and mental well-being as they prepare for the upcoming race on November 19.

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon running track is certified by the World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. The race is part of the official competition system of the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors since 2022.
