Halong Bay Heritage Marathon Delays 2021 Race Due To Pandemic

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon's Organizers will advise a new race date to runners when accurate information becomes handy. The offering of Bib for the 2021 race will stop at the time of disseminating this announcement.

The Organizers will email the runners and make regular updates on the marathon's website and fan page. Runners are kindly requested to check email regularly and follow the marathon's fan page to always be the first to receive the earliest notifications of promotions, incentives and other information related to the marathon.

Postponing a marathon is an extremely difficult decision, especially when preparations are about to come to a good ending. However, being a responsible event organizer and having taken note of the country’s latest infection cases and its third-quarter economic growth contraction, DHA Vietnam and the Vietnam Athletics Federation have considered the need to eliminate the risks to people’s health and to the provincial economic development as a crowded event could turn into a super contagious ground.

The Organizers would like to thank the runners for understanding and companionship. We wish the runners to always be optimistic, keep up with training, comply with the safety rule (known as the 5K rule) in the context that infections have not been fully contained and the risk of a flare-up remains in place.

The Organizers are looking forward to welcoming all the runners who have loved and supported the race in Quang Ninh province on the shore of the beautiful Ha Long Bay on the new race day.

The Halong Bay Heritage Marathon has the ONLY running track in Ha Long certified by the World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. The race is part of the official competition system of the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors, starting from 2022.
